چکیده

Magnesium (Mg) and its alloys have attracted considerable attention owing to their excellent biodegradable properties biocompatibility. Novel Mg–Sn–Ge ternary Mg were developed as potential materials for orthopedic applications because of alloying elements naturally present in humans. The feasibility these was investigated terms mechanical properties, degradation, cytocompatibility, hemocompatibility. hardness elastic modulus Mg–2Sn–xGe improved significantly by increasing the Ge content. Among all alloys, Mg–2Sn–3Ge alloy displays outstanding evidenced electrochemical tests hydrogen evolution. degradation products detected on corroded surfaces weaken at higher levels. vitro cytotoxicity assay hemolysis test showed that exhibit favorable biocompatibility hemocompatibility, except Mg–2Sn–2Ge alloy.

Performing a Calcium-Phosphate Layer on Porous NiTi Alloy for Using in Orthopedic Applications

Porous NiTi alloys has a series of unique properties such as shape memory effect, superelastic behavior and energy absorbability that make them usable in a wide range of medical and industrial appliances. But the more probability of Ni release from a porous NiTi compare to the nonporous one has restricted it’s uses in implants. In the present research for resolving the problem, performing a cal...

Characterization and In Vitro and In Vivo Assessment of a Novel Cellulose Acetate-Coated Mg-Based Alloy for Orthopedic Applications

Despite their good biocompatibility and adequate mechanical behavior, the main limitation of Mg alloys might be their high degradation rates in a physiological environment. In this study, a novel Mg-based alloy exhibiting an elastic modulus E = 42 GPa, Mg-1Ca-0.2Mn-0.6Zr, was synthesized and thermo-mechanically processed. In order to improve its performance as a temporary bone implant, a coatin...

Preparation and in vitro evaluation of a novel chitosan-based hydrogel for injectable delivery of enrofloxacin

BACKGROUND: The development of injectable sustained-release products are of great interest to veterinary pharmaceuticals and animal health business. Recently, great attention has been paid to in situ gel-forming chitosan/beta-glycerophosphate (chitosan/β-GP) solutions due to their good biodegradability and thermosensitivity. OBJECTIVES: The general aim of this study was to prepare a novel in si...
